The Calathea Leopardina Stands Out
The Calathea Leopardina is known for its fresh green leaves with dark green patterns. Place this tropical beauty in a shaded spot – it does not tolerate direct sunlight.
Unique Behavior of the Calathea
In the evening, the plant folds its leaves upward like praying hands – hence the nickname "Prayer Plant." At sunrise, it opens them again, sometimes accompanied by a gentle rustling sound.
Care & Tips Calathea Leopardina – 35cm
Like all Calatheas, the Leopardina thrives in shade. In its tropical habitat, it grows under the canopy of larger plants, protected from direct sunlight. Too much light can burn the leaves and fade their patterns. Place it in a spot with indirect light.
Water Needs Calathea Leopardina – 35cm
Keep the soil of the Calathea Leopardina slightly moist, but avoid overwatering – this can lead to root rot. Before watering, use two fingers to check about 2 cm deep in the soil: if it feels dry, it’s time to water; if it’s still moist, wait a little longer.
Increase humidity by misting the leaves weekly – this tropical plant will appreciate it.
Light Requirements Calathea Leopardina – 35cm
The Calathea Leopardina originates from the shaded tropical regions of South America and the Amazon. At home, it also needs a spot out of direct sunlight. Too much sun can cause the leaves to curl and dry out.
In a shaded location, the foliage stays at its best, and new leaf patterns will continue to emerge. Normal daylight is fine – as long as it's not too intense.
Is the Calathea Leopardina – 35cm Toxic?
No, the Calathea Leopardina is non-toxic and safe for both humans and pets.
